Careers Education
Careers Education, Information and Guidance (CEIAG) and World Related Learning
The HASN Careers Programme is a key component of our Student Futures planning, designed to offer exceptional, tailored career guidance to every student. Aligned with the Gatsby Careers Guidance Benchmarks, the programme ensures a comprehensive and personalised approach, providing students with the support and resources to make informed decisions about their future pathways.
We ensure that Careers Education is seamlessly integrated across all subject areas and year groups. HASN Careers allows students to explore diverse and exciting career opportunities within the world of work. Additionally, dedicated time for Careers Education is incorporated into our tutor time sessions via our careers platform Unifrog.

| On Friday, 1st May, Sarah Jones visited Harris Academy South Norwood to oversee a lively and thought-provoking debate on whether social media should be banned for under 16s. Two teams of six students each, including Debate Club and our A-Level Politics class engaged in a structured and engaging discussion, presenting opening, main, and closing arguments on both sides of the debate topic. Hawsue, Harris Sixth Form, Politics students |
Sarah Jones, Croydon MP |
| A wide range of perspectives was explored: I argued that excessive online engagement hinders young people’s ability to socialise, while others highlighted the educational benefits and opportunities that social media can provide. The debate also considered how, if the ban was implemented, young people might be educated about its purpose and gradually prepared to use it in future. |
Parmy olson |
| The debate included strong audience participation and final vote where the majority opposed the idea of a ban. Overall, it was an enriching and memorable experience, and I felt deeply honoured to meet Sarah Jones and to take part in such an engaging and intellectually stimulating occasion. |
