What does Ofsted say about our curriculum?

The curriculum is ambitious and well thought-out

Leaders have designed an ambitious curriculum that builds carefully on what pupils have learned before, helping them develop strong and lasting knowledge.

Students make clear links between prior and current learning

Pupils talk confidently about their learning and can connect new content with earlier topics.

Teachers use strong subject knowledge to deepen understanding

Teachers’ expertise helps students discuss and debate confidently in lessons, particularly at sixth‑form level.

Clear and consistent assessment approaches

Most lessons use well-established assessment routines that help teachers understand what pupils know and address misconceptions.
SEND needs are built into curriculum planning

Teachers understand the strategies needed to support pupils with SEND and those with lower reading ages, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.

The PSHE curriculum is well developed and responsive

The PSHE curriculum is carefully planned, meets statutory requirements, and adapts to pupils' needs, including teaching about mental health and online safety.
