Computing & ICT
Why we study Computing
We study Computer Science to develop our understanding of computation and technology, and to build strong computational thinking skills.
Through studying Computing, students learn how computers and computer systems work, how to design and build computer programs, and how to develop ideas using technology. Students also create a range of digital content, preparing them to participate confidently and effectively in an increasingly digital and technology-driven world.
What Studying Computing Is Like at HASN
In Computing at Harris Academy South Norwood, students learn how computers work and how technology is used in the modern world. Lessons focus on problem‑solving, programming and creating digital content.
Students develop their ideas through practical tasks, discussion and written explanations, learning to test and improve their work. Computing is taught in a safe, inclusive environment that builds confidence, curiosity and the skills needed for a digital future.
