Year 9 Art Workshop at Stanley Arts

Year 9 Art Workshop at Stanley Arts

Year 9 pupils recently visited Stanley Arts for an inspiring creative workshop that combined art, history and local heritage. Set within the stunning Grade II listed building, students were encouraged to explore the venue's unique architecture and historical features through observational sketching and hands-on mosaic-making activities.

Throughout the session, pupils examined decorative details, patterns and architectural elements found around the building, using these as inspiration for their own artwork. Through sketching and mosaic design, they developed both their creative skills and their understanding of the cultural significance of this important local landmark.

The workshop provided a fantastic opportunity for students to engage with the arts beyond the classroom, while learning how artists can respond to and celebrate the heritage of the spaces around them. We are proud of the enthusiasm, creativity and artistic outcomes produced by our Year 9 pupils during this memorable experience.
