Year 7 Information Evening

In September, we were delighted to welcome our new Year 7 students and their families to our Year 7 Information Evening, an important opportunity to strengthen the partnership between home and school at the start of secondary education.

Parents and carers had the chance to meet their child's form tutor and take part in a question-and-answer session, allowing them to discuss how their child has settled into life at Harris Academy South Norwood and learn more about the support available throughout the year.

Families also heard from the Principal Mr Comerford and Senior Assistant Principal Mr Adams, who shared their vision for the exciting year ahead and outlined the many opportunities available to students both inside and beyond the classroom. They highlighted the academy's commitment to ensuring every student thrives academically, socially and personally during their HASN journey.

The evening concluded with parents meeting our Heads of Department, who provided an introduction to the curriculum in each subject area and shared practical advice on how families can best support learning at home. From reading routines and homework habits to subject-specific guidance, parents left with a wealth of information to help their children make a successful start to secondary school.
