Core Curriculum
Key Stage Four is a pivotal stage in our students' education, and we ensure every student is equipped with the essential knowledge and skills to thrive in their future endeavours. All students study a core curriculum, which includes:
- English Language and Literature
- Mathematics
- Science (Combined or Triple Science)
- Core PE (Physical Education)
- Religious Education
This core curriculum ensures students leave with a strong foundation in the critical subjects that underpin success in further education and the workplace.
A Diverse and Exciting Range of Options
In addition to their core studies, students choose four further subjects from an extensive range of options, allowing them to tailor their education to their interests, strengths, and career aspirations. These options include but are not limited to:
- Humanities: History, Geography
- Languages: French, Spanish
- Creative Subjects: Art, Drama, Music, Media Studies
- Technological and Practical Subjects: Design Technology, Food Technology, Computer Science, Business Studies
- Vocational Options: CNAT Sport and IT

HASN is home to some truly exceptional talent. Last year, a History student achieved the top mark in the country, a testament to the high standards of teaching and learning within our academy. Similarly, our Science department is the top-performing across the Harris Federation, ensuring students excel in this vital subject area.
