Harris Academy South Norwood Celebrates Exceptional GCSE Success

HASN is celebrating an impressive set of GCSE results, with outstanding individual achievements and strong outcomes across a wide range of subjects reflecting the Academy’s high expectations, exceptional teaching and ambition for every child. This year's results provide further evidence of that commitment, with our students securing top grades across sciences, English, humanities, languages and the arts.

Among our highest achievers was Ridhiman, who secured an exceptional set of results including Grade 9s in Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, English Language, English Literature, Geography, Mathematics, Physics and Spanish, alongside a Grade 7 in Information Technology.

Ioannis also celebrated outstanding success, achieving Grade 9s in Biology, Chemistry, English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Religious Studies and Spanish, placing him among our highest-attaining students.

Nabil delivered an exceptional performance, securing Grade 9s in Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, English Literature, Geography, Mathematics, Physics and Spanish, alongside a Grade 8 in English Language, demonstrating excellence across a broad and demanding curriculum.

Lara achieved a remarkable set of GCSE results, including Grade 9s in Biology, Chemistry, English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Religious Studies and Spanish, showcasing exceptional academic achievement across a wide range of subjects.

Ahinoa achieved an exceptional profile of results, securing Grade 9s across the sciences, geography and Spanish, alongside a number of other top grades, reflecting excellence across both STEM and humanities disciplines.

Elyssa secured an impressive suite of results including 9-8 in Combined Science, Grade 9s in History, Religious Education and Spanish, Grade 8s in English Language and English Literature, alongside Grade 7s in Mathematics and Drama, demonstrating success across sciences, humanities, languages and the creative arts.

Ainhoa was another standout performer, achieving an outstanding collection of results including a Grade 9 and a host of Grade 8s, highlighting exceptional consistency and achievement across a diverse range of subjects.

These individual successes were mirrored across the wider cohort. English remained a key strength for our academy, with almost three quarters of students achieving a standard pass in English Literature, reflecting our sustained focus on literacy, reading and academic scholarship. Across the separate sciences, students achieved exceptional outcomes, with Biology, Chemistry and Physics all recording average grades above 8, highlighting the depth of scientific excellence across our academy.

These achievements are particularly noteworthy given the context in which they have been secured. For many of our students, challenges beyond their life at school have meant that they have had significant barriers to overcome during their time at secondary school, yet our students continue to achieve outcomes that rival the very best. The results are a powerful testament to our unwavering belief that background should never be a barrier to success and reflect our relentless commitment to raising aspirations, opening doors and transforming life chances through an exceptional education.

Our Principal, Charlie Comerford, said:

"I could not be prouder of our students. These results are the product of years of hard work, determination and endeavour, supported by dedicated staff and families who have championed them every step of the way.

At Harris Academy South Norwood, we believe that every young person deserves access to an excellent education and the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their starting point. Today's results show what is possible when young people are challenged, supported and inspired to aim high.

We are delighted to celebrate their achievements and look forward to seeing the impact they will make as they progress to their next destinations."

Congratulations to all of our Year 11 students on their remarkable achievements!
