Quick Update
Here’s just a snapshot of what’s been achieved recently:
- Achievement: After our brilliant 23-24 year we’ve now built on this success with some amazing IT and sports results already in – comfortably the best results we’ve seen.
- Careers & Aspirations: Year 9 had an inspiring talk from a former student, now at Accenture, showing them what’s possible when ambition meets opportunity. Another successful Dallaglio Foundation trip gave students a glimpse into their futures beyond school.
- Voicebox: Croydon based organisation voicebox came in today to work with the boys on unpicking the concept of masculinity and how to avoid damaging stereotypes and behaviours
- Keeping Students Safe: Year 8 took part in a powerful County Lines awareness assembly—equipping them with the knowledge to stay safe and make positive choices.
- Trips & Achievements: Year 11 had an incredible time at Marchants Hill PGL, throwing themselves into activities with enthusiasm. Special mentions to Inaya and Keria for their kindness, Ryan and Tyler for their basketball skills and Amanda for conquering the Giant Swing and zip line.
- Sporting Excellence: Shane’s signed to West Brom and Joseph won an international Tae-Kwon-Do tournament
- Rewards & Enrichment: Sixth form students enjoyed a well-earned Merky FC trip to the EA Gaming Centre, and our creative arts trips to Dear Evan Hansen and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child were fantastic cultural experiences.
- Community & Inclusion: Our Islamic art workshops for Eid will celebrate faith and unity, and we’re looking forward to our Iftar evening tomorrow night. Lower school assemblies on the menstrual cycle have ensured our students feel informed and empowered, and Voicebox sessions have been giving boys the space to reflect on positive masculinity.
- Literacy & Creativity: Comic book rewards workshops have been running this week, showing that reading for pleasure is alive and well at HASN.
- Y11 Practical Subjects: Year 11 are busy doing their cook-offs in Food tech, look at the amazing pictures below! DT are also now busy making their brilliant products – do talk to them all about their dishes and designs.
- Sixth Form role models: The sixth formers are now busy listening to lower school students read and providing targeted mentoring, thanks so much for your support in making this a huge success.
- Rewards Cooking Workshops every Friday - Celebrating diverse cuisines from around the world.
- Primary School Visit – Year 5s from South Norwood Primary had a wonderful day today climbing and cooking – thanks to everyone involved
