Globe Trotters visit HASN

Harris academy was lucky to get the opportunity to receive a visit from the world famous Harlem Globe Trotters. The Globe Trotters came to the academy and ran a basketball session for the select group of students a reward for their hard work, when working closely with Coach Wright of the Greenhouse basketball Programme. The two Globe Trotters “Slick Willie Shaw” and “Hot Shot Branch” were warmly received by the students with some students admitting they were unable to sleep the night before and many students looking on the internet to watch their legendary basketball performances. The session started off with the Globe Trotters giving an inspiring talk to students encouraging students that hard work and commitment in anything you do will pay off in the future. The skills session helped students to develop on their existing skills with students wanting to show off their skills and knowledge of the game whenever possible. This was however trumped when "Slick Willie Shaw" and "Hot Shot Branch" performed the world famous Harlem Globe Trotter routine spinning basketballs on top of other basketballs and slam dunking for fun. This once in a life time opportunity was then finished with students getting the autographs from the two Globe Trotters and students playing a few 1 on 1 games.
