“All the world’s a stage...” (As You Like It, William Shakespeare)
Come and explore your world on the HASN Stage!
Studying Drama at GCSE develops and extends the work you have done at Key Stage 3 and combines practical performance, exploration of plays and issues through workshops and written coursework.
You will work independently, in small groups and as part of the whole class both in lessons and at additional after school rehearsals. You will need to keep a weekly diary of the work completed in practical sessions so that you can use this when writing your coursework.
You will also be given the opportunity to watch live theatre performed by professional actors and will be required to complete written evaluations of productions you have seen.
We study the Edexcel specification
30% Practical exploration of a theme, topic or issue and 2000 word evaluation of the work completed
30% Practical exploration of a play, 1000 word evaluation of the practical work completed and 2000 word response to live theatre
How can Drama help me in the future?

Acceptance onto the GCSE Drama Course will be by audition only.
Auditions will take place after school on Monday 10th June and Tuesday 11th June
Students will be notified of specific dates and times of auditions following submission of the options form.
All students wishing to take drama will be required to audition.
Please rehearse a monologue of your choice, lasting no longer than two minutes, in preparation for your audition.
A selection of monologues will be available to collect from reception or you can select your own.
