Volcanoes

Do you have a passion for Geography?

Do you want to learn more about Volcanoes?  Are you ready to take part in something exciting? Well here is your chance.  We will be running a 2 day project called Explosive Geography.

Day1 - You will visit the Natural History Museum and visit the "Red Zone", you will get the opportunity to take part in a variety of activites at the museum.  This trip will enrich and extend your understanding of plate tectonics, earthquakes and volcanoes.

Day 2 - You will get the opportunity to build your own volcano and take delight in your success when you see your volcano actually erupt.

You will have a deep understanding of how volcanoes happen and what impact volcanic eruptions have.  Through the model making you will use team work, presentation, innovation and problem solving skills.  Some students will also take on leadership roles within their teams.

The challenge of creating an erupting volcano will create a sense of awe and wonder.
