The Timetable
Students will be taught in blocks of 50 minute lessons each day, several of which will be double periods of 100 minutes. For Year 7 and 8, students will have 6 periods of lessons per day and for Years 9 to Year 13, Monday and Friday will be 6 period days, the rest of the week will be 7 periods.
There will be a planned series of faculty days where students will be organised by subject areas to deliver their curriculum, giving the opportunity for a range of different learning experiences, support for the core subjects, intervention, cross curricular projects, coursework.
The curriculum offer will be reviewed annually in line with new statutory requirements and recommendations from external agencies. Decisions will be made based on the needs of our students in each year group, as we recognise that each separate cohort will have different strengths and weaknesses.
PSHE and Citizenship will be delivered in a variety of ways:
- Faculty days throughout the year;
- A discreet PSHE lesson every other Friday;
- Business and Enterprise curriculum (economic well being and financial capability);
- Across the curriculum;
- During tutor time.
