Loving Science in Innovation Week

The Science department ensured the love of science was bought in for our students to enjoy during a very successful innovation week. The students went from designing and testing their own cars from scratch using cardboard to setting up their own crime scenes. They investigated each other’s crime scenes to understand the role of a forensic scientist. The students attended a RAF museum during a come fly with me project. This is what Freddy Winter had to say

“When we got to the museum we split into groups and had a look around at the planes. There was different types of planes. Varying from the first type to WW2 and Morden jets. We then went into the activity zone and learnt how jets worked.

The students also designed their very own conservation area “the land of the pond.” The students were only shown the piece of land for them to develop their own ideas. Through excellent team work and innovative skills they designed a whole area which included a pond, walk way, vegetable patch and a section for new habitats to develop.
